Terms of use
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of Desktop 2000, on the web or installed on a device. Using the app means you accept these terms.
2. Access
The games can be played for free, without an account. AL Company does its best to keep the app available but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability (maintenance, outage, update).
3. Player account
An account is optional. It lets you choose a username and keep your high scores and statistics on all your devices (and, if you turn it on, appear on the public leaderboards). You sign in with your Google or Apple account: Desktop 2000 does not handle any password, and you are responsible for keeping that account secure. A username must be 3 to 20 characters long and not already in use. Users under 15 need the consent of a parent or guardian to create an account. You can delete your account at any time from the Player account window or by writing to [email protected].
4. Usernames, scores and player content
You remain responsible for what you post (username, avatar, message, score). The following are prohibited: abusive, hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexual or unlawful content; impersonation; posting another person’s personal data; advertising.
To display this content in the app, you grant AL Company a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence for as long as your account exists.
5. Cheating
Tampering with scores (altering code or data, bots, exploiting a bug) is prohibited. A score obtained this way may be removed from the leaderboard.
6. Reporting and moderation
Any unlawful content or content that breaches these terms can be reported from the app or to [email protected], stating the content concerned and the reason. AL Company may remove content, remove a score or suspend an account. Every decision is explained to the player concerned, who can challenge it by replying; the challenge is reviewed by a person.
7. Liability
Desktop 2000 is entertainment provided as is. AL Company is not liable for lost records caused by erasing the data stored on the device (clearing the site’s data in the browser or uninstalling the app). Nothing in these terms limits the liability of AL Company where the law does not allow it, in particular for gross negligence or personal injury.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. For significant changes, players with an account are informed at least 15 days in advance and may delete their account if they do not agree.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, please write to [email protected] first so we can try to settle it amicably. If you are a consumer, you may use the consumer mediator free of charge (see the terms of sale) and bring proceedings before the courts where you live. No mandatory arbitration clause applies to you.
