Intellectual property

The code, graphics, icons, wallpapers and sounds of Desktop 2000 were created for the app and belong to AL Company. Any reproduction without permission is prohibited. The Pixelify Sans, VT323 and Press Start 2P fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Letterama’s word lists are derived from wordfreq (Robyn Speer and contributors, Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 licence) and are themselves distributed under that licence; for French, English, Spanish and Portuguese they were filtered with the free spell-check dictionaries Grammalecte (MPL 2.0), SCOWL, RLA-ES (MPL) and VERO (MPL). The Crossword words and clues were written for Desktop 2000.

The rules of the games offered (solitaire, mine finder, checkers, sudoku…) are traditional games in the public domain. Desktop 2000 pays tribute to 2000s computing but is not affiliated with any operating system publisher, phone maker or video game trademark owner. Trademarks mentioned belong to their owners.
