Contact us
A question, a bug, an idea? Write to us at [email protected]. We usually reply within a few days.
For a bug, please tell us which game, your device (for example iPhone 13, Windows PC, Mac) and what happened. A screenshot helps a lot.
Installing the app
Desktop 2000 plays right in your browser at desktop2000.com, with nothing to install. To get it as an app, with its own icon:
iPhone and iPad: open the site in Safari, tap the Share button, then “Add to Home Screen”.
Android: open the site in Chrome, then the ⋮ menu and “Install app” (or “Add to Home screen”).
Computer: in Chrome or Edge, click the install icon on the right of the address bar.
Playing offline
After opening it once with internet, every game works offline. You only need a connection for the player account, leaderboards, friends and online games.
Updates install themselves the next time you open it with internet.
Records and backup
Your records, stats, trophies and games in progress are saved on your device, with no account.
Getting your records on another device: create a player account (free, optional) from the start menu, then Player account. Sign in with the same account on the other device.
Without an account: in Settings, under Backup, “Export” creates a file that you can “Import” on another device.
Note: clearing the site’s data in your browser, or uninstalling the app, also clears what is saved on the device.
Playing with a friend
Tic-tac-toe, Four in a Row, Reversi, Checkers, Chess, Sea Battle, Letterama and Yam’s can be played by two. Choose “Online” when starting a game, then send the code or link to your friend: they don’t need an account.
Some games also offer “Two players” on the same device, passing it back and forth.
Deleting your account
From the start menu, open Player account, then “Delete my account”. Your account, username and records saved online are deleted right away. Records on the device are kept.
You can also ask us at [email protected]. To learn more about your data, read the privacy policy.
Game tips
Getting started
Click a desktop icon, or open the start menu, then All programs. One game is open at a time.
Card games
Solitaire: tap a card and then where it goes, or tap it twice to send it automatically. Yam’s: 5 dice and 3 rolls per turn; keep the good dice and fill your score sheet.
Puzzles
Mine Finder: right-click or long-press to place a flag, click a number to open the squares around it. Tic-tac-toe: get three in a row.
Arcade
Snake and Blocks use the arrow keys or WASD. Paddles and Brick Smash follow your mouse or finger. In Pinball, use the arrows or Shift for the flippers and hold Space to launch.
Sound and language
The speaker icon on the right of the taskbar mutes or restores sound. Change the language from the start menu, under Help and support.
Drawing
Pick a tool on the left and a colour at the bottom (right-click for the second colour; on a touch screen, first tap the main or second colour box). File saves your drawings on the device, exports them as PNG or makes one your wallpaper. Ctrl+Z undoes, Ctrl+Y redoes.
My blog
Your private glitter blog: it stays on this device and nobody else sees it. “Edit” opens editing (tap a block, place stickers), “Export image” turns it into a picture to share. Use “Export a backup” (Options) to keep it when you change devices.
